Denis Rousseau

Trombone / Artistic Director

Denis Rousseau was trained at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in trombone performance under Damien Boivin. He then perfected his art with James C. Lebens and Don Renshaw. As a trombonist, he has had the opportunity to accompany several artists and musicians both on stage and recording studio, whether in Portugal, the Caribbean, Mexico, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Haiti, the United States and many Pan-Canadian tours.

 

He has performed with the Orchestre Réseau des Conservatoires, the Orchestre symphonique de l'Estuaire, the Orchestre symphonique de Lévis, the National Band of the Naval Reserve, many jazz ensembles, the Royal Caribean Cruise Line and the Productions Expression. As of January 2018, he has been playing first trombone with the Ottawa Pops Orchestra.

 

Denis can be heard on the tenor trombone as well as the bass trombone and the euphonium.

Mia Beaudoin-Dion

Piano / Composer-in-Residence

Mia Beaudoin-Dion holds a Bachelor's degree in composition, specialization in instrumental composition, from the class of Denis Gougeon, and a Diplôme d’études collégiales in piano, from the class of Marlene Finn, from the Conservatoire de musique de Gatineau. She also had the opportunity to study orchestration with Anna Sokolovich.

 

A versatile musician, she has performed with Gin n 'Jazz Sextet, Islands with World Keepers and various concerts in the Outaouais area, Montreal and French Ontario.

 

An acclaimed composer, she has produced 2 solo albums of original compositions: Utopies and Prophéties, as well as an album of original compositions, Island, with the band World Keepers. She also published her Symphonie Trinité in the International Journal of Contemporary Composition.

 

Mia Beaudoin-Dion is also composer-in-residence for the Théâtre Mauve-Sapin: she collaborated with KarianeLachance by composing the soundtracks for Mamuche, Les Pattes en Aiguilles and in an adaptation of Aghata by Marguerite Duras.

Kieran Warskett-Lambert

Double- Bass

Keiran Warskett-Lambert completed a Diplôme d’études collégiales in Double Bass at the Conservatoire de musique de Gatineau, under John Geggie. He has also had the opportunity to study with Dave Young, Dave Liebman and Dave Schreoder.

 

As a bassist, he has had the chance to play for CTV, the Ottawa Jazz Festival and the Ottawa Bluesfest.

 

A versatile musician, Keiran's playing is influenced by John Lee Hooker, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert King, Jimi Hendrix, Willie Dixon, Led Zeppelin, Fishbone, Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooten, Stanley Clarke, Flea, various metal bands and Charlie Parker.

 

He has performed with Gin n 'Jazz Sextet, the Curcuma Jazz Quartet and Messora.
